The Croft Workshops

Jewellery Design

If you have a piece of jewellery which you no longer wear and would like it to be re-designed or re-modelled. Andrew can use it to make a new piece or enhance the existing piece to make it wearable. Andrew has extensive experience in re-modelling jewellery including wedding and engagement rings. You can have as much input throughout the design and making process as you wish, to create a piece of jewellery truly unique to you, suiting your budget and needs. To begin the journey of commissioning your own bespoke piece of jewellery, please contact us with any enquiries or make an appointment via the contact page. If you are unable to come into the workshop, you can communicate any design ideas or enquiries with us via email.
If the piece uses higher value materials a 'mock up' can be created of the ring or piece of jewellery in silver. The making of a mock up enables you to fully visualise and try on the piece. Any design alterations are made at this stage before making it into the final material. This stage is designed to ensure you are totally confident with how the finished piece will look and feel and to make the final decision on stones and metal.
The next stage of the design process determines the materials you would like to use to create your design, whether it be platinum, palladium, yellow, white or rose gold, or silver. Andrew will illustrate the various options as well as highlighting his professional recommendations. He will, if required, order a selection of gemstones for you to view, whether it be diamonds, precious or semi precious stones.

Working closely with you at each stage, Andrew will begin the with an initial design consultation. This first consultation is to establish what you want and need from your piece of jewellery and to give you the chance to get to know us. Whether you have a specific design in mind or you are looking for ideas, we will talk you through the various design possibilities and show you examples of previous commission work to help inspire you. Andrew will then transform your initial ideas into reality creating some design sketches with your input and direction.
